David advises technology companies on IP strategy, corporate legal matters, contracts, commercialization risk, and business-aligned legal execution. His work sits at the intersection of business, technology, and law.
He has spent 15+ years helping technology, medical device, life sciences, and advanced manufacturing companies protect innovation, manage risk, support growth, and build legal/IP infrastructure from formation through financing, commercialization, partnerships, diligence, acquisition, and IPO readiness.
His background includes roles as Vice President of Intellectual Property, General Counsel, Associate General Counsel, Senior IP Counsel, founder, and fractional counsel. David’s work spans patent portfolio strategy, invention capture, freedom-to-operate, IP transactions, licensing, joint development agreements, post-grant and litigation support, outside counsel management, and executive-level risk counseling.
Earlier in his career, David practiced at leading IP firms and was seconded to Panasonic in Osaka, Japan. Before becoming an attorney, he worked as a mechanical and medical-device engineer, giving him a practical understanding of how legal and IP decisions affect product development, technical execution, commercial leverage, and enterprise value.
